Throughout California hundreds of thousands of people live in Disadvantaged, Unincorporated Communities (DUCs). CRLA is dedicated to increasing lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) rights in rural California by improving access to justice and expanding civic engagement opportunities.

Indigenous Program
CRLA's statewide Indigenous Farmworker Project (IFP) meets the needs of a voiceless indigenous Mexican farm worker group. Largely from the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca, this population in California has grown dramatically over the past two decades.
Human Rights Watch Report: "Cultivating Fear: The Vulnerability of Immigrant Farmworkers in the US to Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment."
This 95-page report describes rape, stalking, unwanted touching, exhibitionism, or vulgar and obscene language by supervisors, employers, and others in positions of power.
