Every year, CRLA has a wonderful crop of summer interns from laws schools around California. This year, we had 35 interns working out of our field offices. CRLA depends on the work of these dedicated volunteers to help our clients. CRLA’s summer interns provide substantive legal support. Some of the work they do includes: interviewing clients and witnesses, providing counsel and advice, drafting court pleadings, researching relevant legal issue, attending court hearings and trials, conducting factual investigations, and analyzing documents and other evidence. At CRLA’s Central office, we had three amazing summer interns: Natalia Renta, Linda Tran, and Natasha Lodholz.
Natalia, attends Stanford Law School and was aPublic Interest Summer Fellow. She worked on CRLA’s LGBT program. Linda attends Loyola School of Law, and worked with our Labor Task Force. Natasha attends Golden Gate University and worked on the Community Equity Initiative. “Working for CRLA was an incredible experience,” said Linda. “I learned so much from Cynthia Rice, Director of Litigation, Advocacy and Training. Natasha agreed. “It was great to see the law up close, in action, helping communities.” Natalia summed it when she said, “Working with Dan and CRLA changed my life!”
