Thank you for your interest in interning with California Rural Legal Assistance, Inc. Future attorneys and advocates committed to social justice or public interest will find diverse and exciting internship opportunities here!

The Internship Experience

Internships are available throughout the year to current students (law students and all undergraduates).

Students will have the ability to enhance their legal training under the supervision of experienced litigators and community lawyers.

Experiences such as participating in client intake, developing cases, representing clients in administrative hearings, litigating, researching, and writing are among the hands-on experiences you may have during a CRLA internship.

Areas of Practice

CRLA has 19 offices across California providing both impact litigation and direct legal services.

Our areas of legal practice include education, employment and labor, housing, community leadership development, and rural housing.

Additionally, CRLA has special programs focused on vulnerable rural communities including immigrants, Indigenous people, LGBTQ+ people, youth, and residents of unincorporated communities.

Each office focuses on different aspects of the law based on the needs of the community, so please email us for more information.

How to Apply

We invite you to submit your internship application online.

Please include your cover letter, resume, and a writing sample (optional but recommended).
