CRLA Community Worker Veronica Tamayo helps Elizabeth Armstrong navigate Medicare enrolment.
CRLA’s El Centro Health Team recently opened a Medicare Clinic. Located in the El Centro office, the clinic helps elderly clients with their Medicare Part D Plan (Prescription Medicine Coverage) issues. Additionally, it educates clients about Medicare and Medi-Cal with an emphasis on fraudulent scheme awareness aimed at elderly citizens.
All of our El Centro staff stepped up to make this critical community service a reality, especially our new Community Worker Rebeca Velásquez Gamboa!
“Clients come to the clinic confounded and afraid,” said Laura Berumen CRLA Staff Attorney. “We teach them to navigate the confusing healthcare system and they leave with piece of mind. You can see the relief on their faces.”
